New version of NoviWare introduces features targeting network operators and enterprises deploying SDN applications in large-scale networks, including up to 16 million flow table entries, up to 1 million active meters, and automated installation
MONTREAL--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- NoviFlow Inc., a leading provider of high-performance OpenFlow-based switching solutions, today announced the launch of the NoviWare 400.1 switching software. This is the newest release in NoviFlow’s industry leading high-performance OpenFlow 1.3/1.4/1.5 switching software. NoviFlow was the first company in the world to deploy OpenFlow on Network Processors, a technological advantage that has propelled NoviFlow and its products into the global leadership position in high-performance SDN solutions.
NoviFlow’s products are being used as switches, WAN IP/MPLS routers, network appliances and other high-performance forwarding planes, and are already deployed in over 30 countries around the World.
According to Dominique Jodoin, president and CEO of NoviFlow, “With this release, NoviFlow delivers on our commitment to continuously enhance our NoviWare software with the type of features needed to monetize the capabilities of SDN at scale in the $40-Billion USD per year networking industry. Our track record of delivering innovation and rock-solid performance are why some of the world’s largest network operators, such as Australian operator Telstra (with more than 36,000 employees, annual revenues of over $21 Billion USD, and presence in more than 22 countries), have selected NoviFlow’s NoviSwitch products for their global SDN deployments.”
Key new features of NoviWare supporting large-scale deployment introduced in release 400.1 include:
400.1 NoviWare fully supports the OpenFlow 1.3 standard and 1.4, including all actions, instructions and match fields, as well as key features of OpenFlow 1.5, such as Copy-Fields action.
"Since the founding of NoviFlow in 2012 as a spin-out from UQAM, our goal has always been to design and deliver SDN solutions that leverage Network Processors to offer both unsurpassed programmability and wire-speed performance, a major innovation in networking equipment. Today, the inherent advantage of this approach has been proven in the field via deployments of our products at a host of major network operators and cloud operators, resulting in ever-increasing demand for our solutions.”
“The successful closing of an A-Round of funding last year with the Fonds de solidarité FTQ and its partners Somel Investments, W3 Investments and others, provided NoviFlow capital and resources to develop and launch four new NoviSwitch switches and several SDN applications, as well as double our staff and create high-tech jobs in Quebec. All these advantages have probably contributed to the recent selection NoviFlow as one of the ten winners of the Lazaridis Institute Canadian Scale-Up Program, an accolade of which we are extremely proud," concluded Mr. Jodoin.
We invite you to meet NoviFlow to discover our advanced OpenFlow solutions demonstrated at our booth (# 311) at MEF16 Congress in Baltimore, November 7-9, 2016.
