SDN solution unites Faucet and BRO to provide scalable Active Response Security solution
NoviFlow’s NoviSwitch supports SDN-based security solution that uses machine learning to provide active security for even smaller networks
July 11th, 2016, Wellington, New Zealand – Ian Welch of the School of Engineering and Computer Science at the Victoria University of Wellington, presented a hands-on SDN and BRP solution at the Malware Research Conference 2016. The solution combines the passive monitoring capabilities of BRO-IDS with the the Net Control Framework to initiate active response to security threats by using SDN and OpenFlow switches to dynamically block suspect traffic, flow shunt large data transfers or quarantine hosts that have been compromised.
